Merlin: Ah, you know, lad… that love business is a powerful thing.
Arthur: Greater than gravity?
Merlin: Well, yes, boy, in its way, I’d, uh- Yes, I’d say it’s the greatest force on Earth.
Love is the greatest force on earth, love is unconditional and infinite and it also has its limits. That limit is life and its many choices and pitfalls. Love can bring two people together who are worlds apart, but without the work put into a relationship that love helped create, it falls apart. Sometimes these pieces can be reassembled with the help of love and sometimes there’s just no way.
We often times blame love for the many bad relationships and situations it brings us to, but it’s not to blame. Love is simply doing what it was designed to do; it is up to the individuals to do their part. Think of love as a rubber band between two people, if one person moves forward and the other person stands still eventually the rubber band will snap and the people are left holding separate pieces of that love.
Love can conquer all, but only when those people that are in a relationship do the work. Love does the amazing and sometimes seemingly impossible, but it can’t do everything. The individuals that love brings together have to do their part to keep the ship of relations afloat. Love is an amazing thing, but it has limits.
